Ternary

2 either, teens

Turner has an idea for the science fair – building a computer based on ternary (trinary, or base 3) logic instead of binary (base 2) logic. It was an idea toyed with in the Soviet Union in the 1950s, and Turner thinks it will help with a common computer programming issue. What he doesn’t count on is his drama club friend shooting holes in the idea!

Ternary contrasts Turner's conscientious and technically complex descriptions with his friend's flippant comments. Real science is conveyed, but entertainment is the prime motivating factor.

Production requirements are simple, with no props or set required. Both roles are written for males, but either (or both) can easily be changed to females.
