Previous Engagements takes us to the Collingswood home, where daughter Amy is preparing for her bridal shower with the help of friends Dina and Ginger and of her parents, Donald and Laura. When a last-minute venue change occurs for the upcoming wedding reception, florist Geo DaCosta is brought in to help. Like maid of honor Zelda, Geo has not seen Amy since they had a mock wedding in third grade. The mix of Geo, current fiancé Jameson, and Amy's unseen former soldier fiancé Sam poses a dilemma for Amy. Who is the right man for her?

The action takes place in the dining nook of the Collingswood home and parts of the adjoining great room and kitchen in the late spring weeks between bridal shower and wedding rehearsal. Comedy and misunderstandings combine to make Previous Engagements a fun-filled evening of entertainment, with a bit of suspense and drama built in.
