Resorting to Violence

Two newlywed couples and four widows have come to a peaceful, remote island resort. When they start being killed off as a storm is about to ravage the island, suspicion falls on the staff and on each one of the guests in turn. The truth of the murders is revealed when only three guests are left alive.

Resorting to Violence calls for a unit set consisting of a lounge area, flanked by partial interiors of two guest cabins. A backdrop shows the sea beyond. Props needed consist of items that might typically be found at a beach resort, together with rubber tubing and a gun.

The locale is not specified; it could be a tropical resort in the Caribbean, in the South Seas, or in an oriental location. A musical number reflecting the culture of the locale can optionally be included, to provide the ambience of a remote island resort. Lighting effects – including lightning, sunset, bright sun, and stormy skies – can enhance the sensation of being at a tropical beach resort.
