Chaz has been invited to dinner at his new girlfriend's parents' place. His hair is mussed after a breezy trip over, but there are no mirrors in the house. And it seems the parents' pet, a panther, is as hungry as the people. But what (or who) will be the entrée?

Bell Weather shows an American student encountering a proud Spanish family arrayed in a variety of period costumes, with the associated comic implications, but adds on a slowly mounting dread. The costuming makes it perfect for a Halloween or Day of the Dead production.

Aside from costumes, staging requirements are simple. No set is required, and the main sound effect is simply the ringing of a bell offstage. Props consist of at most a couple of glasses.

Bell Weather takes the audience on a comedy-tinged journey to horror in a ten-minute playing time. Four juicy roles are provided, with one implied to be the juiciest and most succulent of them all. Beware!

The script is also available as a 10-minute radio play.
