Figs for the Asking
2w 65-80
Two elderly women meet at a senior center. A pleasant newcomer sits down with a crotchety old bat who, it turns out, is the activities director. In monologues at the end, both women address the audience as if they are members of the senior center.
The setting is a simple table and chairs, with perhaps a piece of paper listing activity director announcements. Figs for the Asking is a simple play to produce, with two roles in which older actresses can make a big impact.
