Claudine has been engaged to Graydon for two years, and they're beginning to make firm wedding plans. When she involves her conservative adoptive parents and the liberal cohorts of her biological parents, conflict ensues. More conflict occurs when Claudine and Graydon realize that they don't share the same views on children.
Politics and Religion uses a simple living room set and requires only simple food props and doorbell and gunshot sound effects. It does, however, require strong acting skills to make the conflicts come to life, driving to the unhappy, sobering conclusion of the play.
Politics and Religion contains adult themes, but no adult language. Some comedy is present, but the predominant feature is heated tirades that highlight the extremism of both conservative and liberal viewpoints.
