Mavis' friend Celeste is coming over to Mavis' house with an esteemed art valuator to get an appraisal of the extensive collection of artworks that Mavis and her husband have filling the walls of a gallery they intend to turn into a playroom for their toddler triplets. The valuator has been informed that the eclectic collection contains works by old masters like VanDyck. What s/he sees, though, is something quite different. Confused at first, s/he jumps to the conclusion that this is an installation brilliantly conceived to honor the original works listed on the labels associated with each frame. What's really the case, though, is that these are finger paintings done by the toddlers, installed in the frames to keep the room from seeming too bare while the real artworks listed on the labels are in storage. The valuator makes an offer to buy what's in the room. Celeste convinces Mavis to accept the offer, then sell the works in storage separately, for a very handsome profit.

This ten-minute skit is simple to produce, with just a few finger paintings in frames needed to establish the setting, plus a cell phone as a prop and lighting to spotlight Celeste and the valuator before they enter the room. A breezy comedy, VanDylized goes by quickly and humorously.
