The funeral for Sam Rhodes has just taken place. His wife and children and his wife's sister clean up after hosting a potluck following the funeral. The daughter's troubling memories of the past ignite a confrontation that threatens to leave the family in shambles.

The set is the living room of the Rhodes house. It is a basic setting, augmented by additional temporary seating scattered about at the start of the play.

Props include Charmie, a diapered teddy bear; plates, cups, platters, and containers for food; a handgun; key rings; a motel pass key; and papers. Costuming is simple, with all action occurring on the afternoon and evening following the funeral.

Charmie is an intense and disturbing work with strong sexual content. It is intended only for mature, unflinching audiences.
