A love letter is written on the day a new arrival is brought to the speaker's home, so that there will be a record of the first rapturous reaction to the arrival. This short monologue builds up to the display of this new arrival. The actor or director can choose what this new arrival is – a baby, a pet, or something of an inanimate nature.
